Rico Love Talks About Usher With Right On! Magazine
Right On:How did you get into producing?
Rico: I started off as a rap artist; I was signed to Usher’s label, US Records. I went to Usher’s office one day, and I was kind of lost and didn’t know what to do, because I didn’t have any income coming in.
He was writing the Confessions album at the time, and he gave me a beat that Just Blaze did, and told me to write a song on my album. Usher said to me, “I’m going to sell 10 million albums, so just write a song.” So it all kind of started with that one song I wrote, which was, “Throw Back.”
